Know The Signs

Early detection can mean more time, more options, and more hope. Knowing what is normal for your breasts helps you notice changes early.

01

New Lump or Swelling

A firm lump or thickening in any part of the breast or underarm area that feels distinct from surrounding tissue.

02

Size or Shape Changes

Unexplained alteration in the size, contour, symmetry, or hanging position of one or both breasts.

03

Skin Alterations

Dimpling, puckering, redness, scaliness, or skin that resembles an orange peel texture (peau d'orange).

04

Nipple Changes

Nipple inversion (pulling inward), changes in nipple direction, soreness, or skin flaking around the areola.

05

Unusual Discharge

Any spontaneous fluid or bloody discharge from the nipple without squeezing.

Don’t ignore a change. Don’t wait for it to go away.

If you notice anything unusual, speak to a qualified healthcare professional immediately and get checked. Early action makes all the difference.

Step 2

Raise Arms & Observe

Raise both arms overhead and look for the same changes or any unnatural movement or inversion of the nipples.

Step 3

Touch & Feel (Palpation)

Lying down or in the shower, use the pads of your three middle fingers in a circular motion to feel for any lumps or thickening from collarbone to ribcage.
